The Director General of Police is the Licensing Authority for Arms in the State.
In this regard, he is assisted by the IGP/HQ and SP/HQ and the Arms Section at Police Headquarters.
The Licensing Authority gets the character and antecedent verified through the District Superintendents
of Police and Officers-in-Charge of the Police Stations.
Persons wishing to obtain an Arms License may apply to the Arms Section, Police Headquarters Gangtok where all details will be available. The form is downloadable but the application must be accompanied by a Bank Receipt of Rs.500/- drawn on State Bank of Sikkim in the Revenue Head 0055/Police – Gun License Fee
CA Service verifications are done by the Crime Branch on payment of Rs.200/- in Revenue Head 0055/POL in
the form of Bank Receipt drawn on State Bank of Sikkim, Gangtok.
CA verifications are mandatory for employees who get regular employment
in Government of Sikkim or in any of its PSUs.
The following documents are to be produced for service verification by Sikkim Police at the time of joining govt service:
- SSC/COI of Candidate's Father/Husband
- Domicile of the Candidate
- School Certificate(Attstd)
- Panchayat Report
Please note that Panchayat Report should be signed by atleast 3(Three) panchayats & the SSC/COI/Domicile/Parcha duly attested by a Magistrate
Hotel owners are required to submit the details of people employed by them to the CID, Sikkim Police for monitoring & record.The format for the filling up the personal details of employess is provided below:
All the citizens from different wakes of life are kindly requested to submit details of their employees, tenants & domestic servants to Sikkim Police for record. It is better to be 'Safe Than Sorry' & 'Prevention Is Better Than Crime', kindly verify the personal details of individuals before hiring them as employees and domestic servants. Similarly please don't keep unknown tenants in your house without verifying their details.
